MSN Solitaire

MSN Solitaire

The MSN Solitaire Collection includes five classic solitaire games, each offering a unique twist on the traditional card game.

Klondike is the most well-known version, often simply called “Solitaire.” The objective is to clear all the cards from the tableau by building up four foundation piles in ascending order, starting with the Ace.

FreeCell requires strategic thinking and skill, as every game is winnable with the right moves. The cards are dealt into eight columns, and players must move them to the foundation piles, using four free cells as temporary storage.

Spider is a more challenging variant where the goal is to clear eight columns of cards with the fewest moves possible. Players must create sequences of cards in descending order from King to Ace within the tableau.

Pyramid involves pairing cards that add up to 13 to remove them from the board. The game is set up in a pyramid shape, and players must clear all the cards to win.

TriPeaks is a fast-paced game where players select cards in a sequence, either up or down, to clear the board. The game features three peaks of cards that must be cleared to win.

Each game in the collection offers a different challenge and keeps the gameplay experience fresh and engaging. Whether you prefer the strategic depth of FreeCell or the quick pace of TriPeaks, there’s something for everyone in the Microsoft Solitaire Collection.

How to play MSN Solitaire Online

Playing Solitaire, specifically the classic version known as Klondike Solitaire, involves a few simple steps.

Setup

  1. Starting off: Shuffle a standard deck of 52 cards.
  2. Create the tableau: Deal seven piles of cards. The first pile has one card, the second has two cards, and so on, up to the seventh pile, which has seven cards. Only the top card of each pile is face up.
  3. Set aside the remaining cards as the stock pile.

Objective

The goal is to move all the cards to four foundation piles, one for each suit, in ascending order from Ace to King.

Gameplay

  1. Move cards within the tableau: You can move face-up cards to another pile if the card being moved is one rank lower and of the opposite color (e.g., a red 7 on a black 8).
  2. Reveal hidden cards: When you move a face-up card, turn the card underneath it face up.
  3. Build the foundation piles: Start with Aces and build up in ascending order by suit.
  4. Use the stock pile: Draw cards from the stock pile when you can’t make any more moves in the tableau. You can go through the stock pile three times.

Winning

You win the game when all cards are moved to the foundation piles.
